Storage Requests
Requests for any dry storage must be made in writing, dated and should be sent to the Port Captain or Fleetmaster or Board of Directors. Requests should include dimensions, weight,  type and rig of boat and a description of how it  is to be used. Priority in a given category of space is given to those with fewer spaces over those with more in this category. Otherwise, spaces are assigned according to date  received. Space assignments may be relocated at the discretion  of the Port Captain. Renters shall abide by Dry Store Rules or risk losing their space assignments/dry storage privileges.

Dry Storage Rules
Lockers shall be maintained in a safe manner. No oily rags or combustibles shall be stored. Boats and  gear shall be maintained in a seaworthy manner, and if on a trailer, the trailer shall be maintained movable at all times. Spaces cannot be re-assigned by renters or sublet.

A boat must be used at least every two years. If not, renters may lose their dry storage spaces for that boat. Once lost, owners will be told to remove their boat and if so equipped, the trailer, within 35 days or incur a quarterly increase equal to ten times the current rent until the boat /boat trailer is removed from the IYC.

Extensions to the two year rule may be applied for by a renter who can demonstrate the following to the Port Captain or the Board of Directors:  1) regular, on-going work on the boat, or
2) extenuating circumstances.

No boat may be stored at the IYC without permission of the Port Captain or Board of Directors. A renter assumes all responsibility for a boat, gear or any items dry stored at the club.
